PUMPKIN STANDS
October 30, 2019 - We did a fun STEM project on this Hallow's Eve called "Pumpkin Stand." Students worked together to build a stand with straws and tape to hold up a 2.5 pound pumpkin. The results were hilarious as the flimsy straws were not stable enough for the heavy pumpkin. in 30 tension-filled minutes, all 15 groups gave it their best shot, but only one group was successful. The team of Gianna and LeAn managed to placed the pumpkin on their straw stand without collapsing it. For the champions, they won the Unicorn Award, $400 STEM dollars, and candies. However, all participants also were given candies for their effort. At the end, they ate all of Mr. Phams candies... before Halloween!!!
