WATER CYCLE PROJECT
March 2-6, 2020- During our "Ecology" unit, we learned how water is continuously recycled; that fresh water is stored beneath Earth’s surface as groundwater; how the forces of weather and the shape of the land determine where precipitation falls; and that fresh water is a limited resource we must conserve. For our final project, each group built a "Water Cycle Model" to see how much water is collected as it goes through the stages of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. We poured 100ml of water into a bowl of dirt, secured it tightly in plastic wrap, and left our models out in the sun for 5 days. We then measured our reclaimed water levels. It was a fun project.
